Old Vic announces new season for London. Sheridan Smith and Kiss Me Kate feature

Sheridan Smith is set to play the title role in a revival of Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen at London’s Old Vic Theatre this Autumn
The production, which will be directed by Anna Mackmin, is the opening show in the theatre’s autumn/winter 2012/20313 season. Alongside Olivier Award winning actress Sheridan Smith, the cast will include Buffy Davis, Anne Reid, Adrian Scarborough and Fenella Woolgar.
The season will then transfer in Trevor Nunn’s revival of Cole Porter musical Kiss Me Kate from and in co-production with Chichester Festival Theatre.
Hedda Gabler opens on September 12th, following previews from September 5. This means the theatre will be dark during August, Democracy will close end of July.
Kiss Me Kate will run from November 20, with press night on December 3 and will feature a cast including Alex Bourne, David Burt, Adam Garcia, Clive Rowe and Hannah Waddingham. It;s choreographed by Stephen Mear.
