Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys as you rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat for all the family.

The Wizard of Oz tells the story of a Kansas farm girl - Dorothy Gale - who finds herself in the Land of Oz after a sudden tornado sweeps up her home. After meeting Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy learns that in order to get home she must travel along the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the help of the mysterious Wizard. On her travels she makes three unlikely friends - a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and a cowardly Lion. The only thing that stands in their way is the Wicked Witch of the West, who is desperate to have Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. The story was made famous by the 1939 film starring Judy Garland - based on the original work by author L. Frank Baum.

The classic tale comes to the West End as a new full length musical, with the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber having composed new additional songs for the show to enhance EY Harburg and Harold Arlen’s famous score, which includes such classics as ‘We’re Off to See the Wizard’ and the Oscar winning ‘Over the Rainbow’.

This new musical is connected with the BBC reality TV show ‘Over The Rainbow’, which spent the summer of 2010 searching for a Dorothy to star in the show. 18 year old Danielle Hope won the contest. She will appear opposite West End veteran Michael Crawford (The Phantom of the Opera) who takes the role of 'The Wizard'.

*Please note the start time for the performance on 18th November 2011 has been changed from 7.30pm to 8.00pm.

**Please note: Danielle Hope shall play Dorothy on Sunday shows. Sophie Evans shall play Dorothy on Tuesday shows. Michael Crawford will perform in the production until Sunday 5th February 2012.
